Daily Struggle in Bikaner with Railway Crossing Problems Now

Bikaner is a beautiful city full of heritage, culture, and history. But amidst its old charm and rapid development, there lies a daily struggle that every resident and visitor faces — the railway crossing gates. There are two major railway crossings in the city, located between the Old City and the New City, and they play a crucial role in everyday travel.

These crossings are not just regular barriers—they are the biggest bottleneck in Bikaner’s daily transport. The gates close up to 66 times a day, bringing everything to a halt. Whether you’re a local rushing to work, a student heading to class, or a tourist exploring Bikaner — the chances are high that you will get stuck at the crossing.

The Real Problem: Railway Crossing Gates

When the gate closes, people wait. Sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 20. Vehicles pile up, traffic becomes chaotic, and frustration grows. You never know whether you’ll cross smoothly or waste precious time waiting — and this uncertainty affects thousands daily.

But what if you could know whether the gate is open or closed before you even reach there?
What if technology could solve this everyday problem?

The Solution: A Simple App with a Powerful Impact

Understanding the scale of this issue, we created an innovative solution — a mobile app that helps people track the status of the railway gate in real-time.

✨ With this app, users can:

  • Check if the gate is currently open or closed
  • See the exact timings of gate closures throughout the day
  • Avoid unnecessary delays and traffic jams
  • Save time and plan better travel routes

The app includes a complete list of train timings, so users can predict when the gate will close and adjust their travel accordingly.

Why This App Matters to Bikaner

This isn’t just a tool — it’s a daily need for the people of Bikaner.
For locals, businessmen, students, emergency services, and even tourists, this app is a modern solution to a long-standing problem.

Instead of wasting time stuck at the gate, people can now:
✔ Take an alternate route
✔ Stay home until the gate reopens

✔ Avoid unnecessary fuel consumption
✔ Reduce stress and road congestion

It may seem like a small change, but for a city that stops 66 times a day, this solution is nothing less than revolutionary.

Not every innovation needs to be big or global — sometimes the most meaningful solutions are the ones that make everyday life easier for ordinary people. This rail crossing tracking app is an example of how technology can change the routine of an entire city.

For Bikaner, this is more than an app.
It is a smart way to save time, reduce chaos, and improve daily life.
A small idea with a big impact.

From an Idea to a Nationwide Change: The Story Behind the “Swachh Bharat Toilet Locator” App

A few years ago, while India was transforming under the Swachh Bharat Mission, there was one challenge that quietly affected millions—the simple need to find a clean, nearby public toilet.

Whether you were traveling to a new city for work, attending an event, or just exploring a public space, the question remained the same — “Where can I find a toilet nearby?”

Surprisingly, no department or private entity had a definitive dataset of public toilets across India. The information gap was real and deeply felt — especially by women, who often had to rely on others for directions, only to find there were none around.

That’s when our team at Neologicx decided to take a small but impactful step.
We developed the “Swachh Bharat Toilet Locator” mobile app, which later became popularly known as the “Google Toilet Locator.”

🗺️ On a simple, intuitive interface, users could:
– Select their gender
– Instantly view nearby toilets
– Get navigation directions to reach them
– View facilities available at each location
– Rate and upload photos of the toilet to help others

What started as a pilot under the Swachh Bharat initiative soon turned into a nationwide movement, improving accessibility and hygiene awareness across cities.

And the proudest moment?
When this very concept was later integrated as a feature in Google Maps, making it available to millions — not just as an app, but as a public convenience infrastructure milestone.

This project remains one of our most meaningful contributions — not just in terms of technology, but in how a simple digital solution can directly impact health, dignity, and everyday life for people across India.
